Professional Accomplishments
Yi Ji-young is one of Korea’s most distinguished gayageum artists, renowned for her expansive repertoire ranging from traditional works to avant-garde contemporary performances. Since her international debut at the Edinburgh Festival (UK) in 1990, she has been invited to perform in France, Germany, Russia, Japan, Finland, Sweden, New Zealand, and the United States. She has graced prestigious stages such as MIDEM, Classical:NEXT, and ISCM, among others.
She has appeared as a soloist with the Shanghai Orchestra, Kyoto Orchestra, Jerusalem Philharmonic Orchestra, Croatia Radio Broadcasting Orchestra, Ulan-Ude City Orchestra, Atlas Ensemble, and KNM Berlin Ensemble.
She remains committed to the global promotion and artistic advancement of the gayageum.
