Professional Accomplishments
Soprano Mija Park made her operatic debut as Norina in Don Pasquale at the Teatro Arriaga in Spain. Since then, she has performed leading roles in numerous major Italian bel canto operas, such as La Traviata and Rigoletto, performing throughout Europe in countries such as Italy, Spain, and Croatia.
she made her Korean stage debut in the demanding title role of Isang Yun's Sim Tjong, followed by leading performances in Chunhyangjeon, La Traviata, Rigoletto, L'elisir d'amore, Die Zauberflöte, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Il signor Bruschino, Der Traum des Liu-Tung, La Bohème, Fidelio, Lucia di Lammermoor, and Rinaldo.
Renowned as one of Korea's foremost lyric coloratura sopranos, she remains a distinguished prima donna. In addition to her operatic achievements, she has appeared as a principal soloist in numerous oratorios.
Awards
She is the First Prize winner of the Giacomo Aragall International Singing Competition in Spain and the Spazio Musica International Competition in Italy. She has also been a laureate in over ten prestigious competitions worldwide, including the Bilbao International Singing Competition.
Her accolades include the Best Female Opera Singer award at the Korea Opera Awards (2010), the Opera Singer of the Year award from NewDaily (2017), and the Grand Prize in Classical Vocal Music at the Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards (2019).
