Professional Accomplishments
Hyoung-Joon Chang made his debut with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra at age sixteen and has since collaborated with eminent conductors including Walter Hendl, Tadaaki Otaka, Thomas Sanderling, Paul Freeman, and Ian Hobson. He has performed as soloist with world-renowned orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the Barbican Centre, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra at the Tokyo Culture Center, Symphony Orchestra of Russia, Czech National Symphony, Sinfonia Da Camera, Osaka Symphony Orchestra, Victoria Symphony, KBS Symphony Orchestra, and the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra.
Chang was soloist for the Korean premieres of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ "Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra" and Kang-Yul Lee’s "Rainy Day for the Piano and Orchestra" — the latter awarded Korea’s Art Award of the Year. He is also recognized for acclaimed solo recitals across Europe, North America, Japan, and Korea.
An active recording artist, Chang has recorded piano concertos by Mozart, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, Gershwin, and Schnittke on labels such as Pro Arte, Warner Music, and Genuin.
