Young-Yul Kim studied at Seoul National University, Temple University in Philadelphia, and Eastmann School of Music of University of Rochester. He performed as a concerto soloist with KBS Symphony, Busan Philhamonic, Korean Symphony, Suwon Philharmonic, Seoul Arts Center Orchestsra Festival. Young-Yul Kim was awarded ‘Punto Award’ at the IHS Symposium in Beijing(2000), and he served as Dean of College of Music, Seoul National University. He is a professor at SNU, Jeju International Competition chairman(2014-), artistic director of Gimpo Philharmonic Orchestra & The Winds, and advisory council member of International Horn Society(2013-).
