   Kyeong-ah Kim is a professor at Seoul National University college of Music who teaches piri. She graduated from Dankook University and got a Ph.D of music art at Hanyang University with the thesis on melody analysis of female gagok, based on te repeated melody. Also she is the initiator of Important Intangible Cultural Property No.46 Piri Classic Music and Daechwita.  She was a Chief ok KBS Korean Traditional Performing Arts Orchestra and member of Gyeonggi Provincial Traditional Music Orchestra. she received President award of Nangye Korean music competition General Dept. in 2000.
   She has been an active piri player. She issued five albums on Korean music; <Gopung>, <Yeonjeong>, <Chengpungmyeongwaul>, <Pyeongjohoesang>, <Healing of piri>. She has written the book of Korean Folk Song Textbook – piri and song for Gyeonggi Regional Folk song-. Now she is the head of 21th Century piri music Association and piri ansemble Ditto.
