 En Sik Choi

  Ensik Choi, a Korean-born violist, was recognized by Heiichiro Ohyama, the principal violist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, at his early age for his extraordinary talent. He was accepted to study on a full scholarship at Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences (Santa Monica, California). He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied with Joseph de Pasquale, the principal violist of the Philadelphia Orchestra. While Ensik was a student at Curtis, he formed the “Borromeo String Quartet”, of which he was a member for five years.  
   For three years, Ensik was a faculty member at New England Conservatory of Music in Boston where he earned his Artist Diploma with the distinguished violist, Walter Trampler. He later served on the faculty at College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati. He is currently professor at Seoul National University and music director of Just Vivace Festival in Korea.
