He completion of 20th major intangible culture assets(Daegeum Classic Music) and he received Ph.D. in Korean studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
He performed 11 recitals and concerts in 60 international cities. He, received KBS Grand Award for Korean Tradition Performing Arts in 2005, is still performing vigorously and also makes efforts to train younger students as a Professor of Department of Korean Music, Seoul National University. And now, he is also serving as Artistic Director of National Orchestra of Korea and Advisor to National Center for Korean Traditional Music.
