Sngkn Kim studied Korean music and composition at the Seoul National University and College of Music Hanns Eisler in Berlin. He was winner of Dong-A Music Competition, Korean National Composer's Prize and Yumin Awards. His music was perfotmed in Korea and abroad including chamber music and Korean music orchestra pieces. He was one of founder and managing director of Tongyeong International Music Festival from 2002 to 2013. Also he was board member of KBS Sympony Orchestra, KAMS and director of KOREAN MUSIC PROJECT. Since 2003, he is ptofessor for composition and chamber music in the Department of Korean music at Seoul National University.
