Hie-yon Choi

Born in Inchon, Korea, pianist Hie-Yon Choi appeared at the age of six with the Inchon Symphony in her first public concert. After attending the Seoul Arts Highschool she went to Berlin where she studied with professors Klaus Hellwig and Hans Leygraf. Upon her graduation with the Konzertxam she came to the USA to further enhance her education under the guidance of Gyorgy Sebok at Indiana University and graduated with Artist Diploma.
She won several prizes at distinguished international competitions such as Kapell, Busoni, Viotti, Schnabel, etc. Since 1999 she holds a professorship at Seoul National University and leads her piano class.
